Local Business Donates to Help The Humboldt Bay Trail

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM)– The Humboldt Bay Trail “final four” gap may be completed sooner than expected, all thanks to the help of a local business.

Today, Eureka Natural Foods donated ten-thousand dollars to the Humboldt Bay Trail Fund.

The fund will help provide a long term source of maintenance, including community involvement.

This is the second phase of funding, and so far, over three-hundred thousand dollars have been collected. The final goal for the endowment fund is five-hundred thousand.

Right now, they are focusing on the section between Arcata and Eureka, using the railroad as the trail to connect each end together.
