Eureka man dies in Highway 101 crash

CRECENT CITY, CA (KIEM)-A fatal collision south of Crescent City leaves one Eureka resident dead.

Around 11:20 am Friday, the California Highway Patrol responded to a solo crash along Highway 101 north of Damnation Creek.

The CHP said the male driver of a 2006 Toyota Prius veered off the roadway. went down a steep embankment and collided with a large tree.

The 37-year-old sustained fatal injuries from the crash. His name is being withheld at this time.

The crash is under investigation.
