Eureka Stabbing Suspect Now in Custody, Found Driving Victim’s Vehicle in San Francisco

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — A woman is in custody after stabbing a Eureka woman and fleeing the scene.

The stabbing took place Thursday evening just before 5:30 along the 300 block of West Del Norte Street. The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, a dark green Honda 4 door.

Eureka police were notified by the San Francisco police department early Friday morning that the stabbing victim’s vehicle was located and the woman driving, 47-year-old Shelly John, was taken into custody.

John is facing charges for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, carjacking, and elder abuse.

EPD investigations staff are traveling to San Francisco to process the vehicle and conduct follow up interviews.
