Cowboys, Cowgirls and Their Trusty Companions Kicked off the Annual Cowboy Canned Food Convoy

Horses were lined up today ready to take donations for the cowboy food convoy.

This annual event is sponsored by the back county horsemen of California and food for people.

Over 18 horses joined forces for the event.

Non-perishable food donations were delivered by pack train to the food bank of Humboldt County.

The event kicks off food for people’s annual holiday food and fund drive.

The convoy paraded through old town from D St. at the Eureka boardwalk parking lot before returning to unload their haul.

Families and children were encouraged to feed apples to the horses while the riders unloaded all the donations.

It was all for a great cause which also brings attention to the hunger fighter challenge for food for people.
