Drug Task Force Seizes Four Pounds of Heroin

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – Humboldt County Drug Task Force seizes four pounds of heroin in Southern Humboldt.

Task force agents conducted a traffic stop around 9:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, on Highway 101 near the Miranda exit.

Agents detained 38-year-old Jessie Kate Hawk and 62-year-old David Eugene Couch.

The task force received information from their multi-week investigation that Hawk is distributing heroin throughout Humboldt County.

Agents searched the vehicle with a warrant and located approximately 4lbs. of heroin.

Officials released Hawk and Couch because both have medical conditions that would not allow for booking.

Agents are submitting their reports to the Humboldt County District Attorney for prosecution on Hawk and Couch for transportation and possession of heroin.
