Weather Causes Havoc in the North State

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- All day Tuesday, weather caused a large surge in calls for the North Coast.

Residents lost power all over the community.

Fire crews were out actively training and prioritizing calls.

Samoa bay fire was in Eureka helping assist with calls along with extra staff to help with the demand.   

A significant amount of downed power lines, and falling trees were scattered around neighborhoods.

Humboldt Bay fire reminds you to remember to never touch a downed power line and call 911 immediately if you encounter one.

Check all your sources for gas, and propane and make sure there are no leaks.

Humboldt Bay Fire wants to remind residents to unplug your devices and appliances in order to avoid a power surge and fire hazard.
