Northern California Community Blood Bank Launches Blood Mobile 2020 Campaign

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — This giving Tuesday, the Northern California Community Blood Bank launches their blood mobile 2020 capital campaign.

The blood bank is holding the fundraiser to raise money to purchase a new blood mobile. The oldest blood mobile has been in use for the last 17 years and soon will no longer meet California emissions standards. They have a price tag of roughly $350,000. The blood bank is looking to raise at least $100,000. They will also be applying for grants and dipping into their savings.

According to the CEO, Kate Witthaus, this campaign is so important because mobile blood drives allow them to reach more people in the community, and collect more than half of their blood supply. The blood bank’s medical director even made the first donation to the campaign.

If you’d like to donate, you can do it in person at the blood bank or visit their website www.bloodmobile2020.org.
