St. Joseph Hospital Hosts 6th Annual Tree Lighting

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Community members and hospital staff came together outside of St. Josephs for the 6th annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

It all started with a blessing of the tree by a catholic priest. Then, Eureka High School’s “Limited Edition” sang Christmas carols for the crowd and even invited them to join along. There was even a special guest. Santa clause was there to countdown the tree lighting.

Once the tree was lit, attendees were invited inside of the hospital to enjoy some delicious hot chocolate and cookies, and of course, tell Santa what they’re wishing for this Christmas.

According to hospital staff, it’s all about spreading Christmas cheer and bringing the community together this holiday season. If you want to check it out, the tree will be lit outside of the hospital’s main entrance leading up to Christmas.
