Humboldt Bay Fire Battalion Chief Retires

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM)– After 23 years of service, Humboldt Bay Fire is saying goodbye to one of their own.

Battalion Chief Kent Hulbert is hanging up his badge and heading onto the next stage of his life.

Hulbert has been involved in the fire industry for nearly the past 30 years and felt that

Hulbert is leaving behind a legacy where he initiated the urban search and rescue team. He is known for going out as a strike team leader and most uniquely, restoring old EFD fire equipment.

Hulbert plans to take a month off and relax, but will not be far from the station.
