Man Arrested for DUI and Striking a Woman with a Vehicle

REDWAY, Ca. (KIEM) – A large amount of marijuana is found after a man struck a pedestrian with his van and fled the scene.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian crash on Tuesday, Dec. 10 around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Redway Dr. and Empire Ave. in Redway.

According to CHP, 47-year-old Larry Lassiter drove his Dodge van into a parking lot and intentionally struck a female victim.

Lassiter fled the scene and was located shortly after on Redwood Dr. just north of Willow Ave.

Officers also found approximately 295 pounds of marijuana in the van.

Lassiter was booked for driving under the influence and assault with a deadly weapon.
