EUREKA, Ca (KIEM)-St. Bernard’s football won its first state title back in 2015 and five years later, are champions once again. After winning the section title, the Crusaders were a 34-20 winner over South in the State final and accomplished the feat on the North Coast.
In his final game in a St. Bernard’s uniform, Will Omey played a huge role with his legs. The senior QB rushed for 172 yards and 4 touchdowns. Omey told Redwood Sports he is thankful to go out on top and for his teammates and head coach.
St. Bernard’s might lack size but not dedication. They worked well as a team and the end result was the state championship.
