Coffee with Police Chief, Bill Dobberstein One Last Time

FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – The Fortuna police department is saying, not goodbye, but see you later to one of their own.

It was a bitter-sweet day for the Fortuna community as Chief Bill Dobberstein had coffee with the community one last time before embarking on the next chapter in his life.

The smell of coffee and good conversation filled the air this morning at the Starbucks in Fortuna and at the center of it all was the beloved, Fortuna Police Chief, Bill Dobberstein.

Family, friends and supportive citizens of the community were there to wish him well on his next adventures and a warm farewell.

Dobberstein had the pleasure of personally thanking the community for all of their support over the past 25 years that he has served the city. 

It’s not goodbye, but see you later, and it is evident that Chief Dobberstein made his mark on the community and he will certainly be missed by many.
