Runners Ring in the New Year at Annual Resolution Run 5K Race

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Despite a little bit of rain and fog, runners were out bright and early for this year’s resolution run 5k race.

The annual event is put on by the six rivers running club. The race route goes along the waterfront trail here in eureka.

Runners of all ages took off from the starting point at the foot of Del Norte Street at 10 am. More than 100 runners participated in Wednesday’s race.

The City of Eureka and Humboldt CrossFit were also out at the race offering snacks, sparkling cider, and orange juice to people once they crossed the finish line. There were even special awards given out to those that completed the 5k in under 20 minutes and 20 seconds.

Those that participated were excited to be there and to start the New Year off on the right foot. The race is in its fourth year after being started back in 2017.
