Structure Fire Threatens Gas Station in Crescent City

Crescent City, Ca. (KIEM)– An investigation is underway after a late night fire damages a warehouse, threatening a gas station in Crescent City.

Thursday night around 10:20, emergency personnel responded to the 15-hundred block of Oregon Street for reports of a large fire.

According to Crescent City Fire and Rescue, witnesses claim they could hear exploding inside a warehouse that is located directly behind the Northcrest Patriot Gas Station.

The warehouse was used to store vehicles and was heavily engulfed in flames. It took fire crews over an hour to knock down the flames.

The vehicles inside the structure were a total loss and the warehouse is heavily damaged but remains standing.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
