Coast Guard Medevacs Fisherman Near Humboldt Bay

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM)– The U.S. Coast Guard rescues a man from a fishing vessel near the Humboldt Bay.

Sunday evening around 7:10, a crew member aboard a fishing vessel Elly contacted the Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay, stating their vessel was sinking near the South Jetty of the Humboldt Bay entrance.

The coast guard dispatched a MH-65 dolphin helicopter which located the crew.

One crew member with a reported head injury was medevacked to St. Joseph’s hospital.

Two uninjured crew members were rescued by a Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy who was on the scene.
