Senator McGuire Responds to Proposed State Budget

SACRAMENTO, Ca (KIEM)- North Coast Senator Mike McGuire is responding to Governor Newsom’s budget proposal. McGuire said the governor’s budget plan was ambitious and tackles some of the state’s greatest challenges like homelessness, affordable housing and more funding for education.

The Senator has been an outspoken leader in support of enhancing the resources given to fire fighting and prevention… The north state has been hit hard in recent years with the Camp Fire in Butte County and the Tubbs Fire that burned to our south in eight counties.

McGuire said that the proposal would put more firefighters in the field than we have had in four decades.
