16-Year-Old Opens his own Ice Cream Shop in Ferndale

FERNDALE, Ca. (KIEM) – A Ferndale high school student, turned Entrepreneur recently opened his own ice cream business in the cream city and locals are going nuts over it.

16-year-old Jonas Bramwell has a lot on his plate juggling school, A-P classes, social life and now his very own business.

He says he loves talking to people, so when customers show up he enjoys making lots of small talk.

Ferndale being a dairy town, with not many ice cream shops, Jonas found it to be the perfect opportunity.

He’s not sure what his future holds, but he’s always known he wanted to be an entrepreneur, and this is just the beginning of a very bright future.

Jonas has had a tremendous outpouring of support from the community even before the shop opened. Jonas battled cancer and is now in remission.

The cat shack has only been open a few days, and customers are lining up at the window, with 12 different flavors to choose from.

The cat shack is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4 to 8 p-m. and the weekend on Saturdays from 12 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 to 7 p.m.
