Groundbreaking to be held for new Eureka High Gym

EUREKA, CA (KIEM)-Construction on the new Jay Willard gymnasium at Eureka High School is expected to begin soon.

There will be a groundbreaking ceremony on February 7, for the new $20 million facility that will include a basketball court, two practice courts and a wrestling and weight room.

Funding for the project is made possible by Measure S and state funding.

The new gym will be constructed in front of the current gym on J Street and is expected to be completed by January of 2022.
