Multi-vehicle collision involving two Eureka residents leaves one dead in Clearlake

Upper Lake, Ca. (KIEM)– Sunday evening at around 4:10, the California Highway Patrol responded to State Route 20 east of Upper Lake for a crash involving three vehicles.

According to C.H.P., for unknown reasons a Toyota Tacoma traveling eastbound veered across the double yellow lines into the westbound lane and side swiped a GMC Sierra causing the truck to spin out.

The Tacoma kept going in the westbound lane and collided into the front of the Dodge Ram truck that was carrying two eureka residents. The driver is identified at 51-year old Phillip Nasca and passenger, 24 year old Mia Nasca.

According to law enforcement, the driver of the Tacoma, a 44-year-old man from Willits, was not wearing his seat and later died at  Sutter Lakeside Hospital. The other four victims did not sustain any injuries. C.H.P believes alcohol to be a contributing factor in the crash.
