Del Norte Schools Struggle With Retaining Teachers, Study Finds

Del Norte County (KIEM)– A study finds the Del Norte Unified School District struggles with attracting and retaining teachers.

Tuesday, Fact-Finder released a report finding DNUSD has an extremely high turnover rate and highlights records that have shown 47-percent of teachers have left the district in the past three years.

This all comes in the final step in the negotiation process under the Educational Employment Relations Act.

The report was written before Governor Newsom unveiled his budget proposal last Friday, which addressed the teacher retention crisis in California, allocating nine-hundred million and an additional three-point-eight billion to Prop 98 funding.
