Two Vehicle Collision Leaves One Dead Near Indianola Cutoff

Eureka- Arcata- Corridor (KIEM)– One man is dead after a two vehicle collision on the Eureka-Arcata-Corridor.

Just before 6 Tuesday evening, emergency personnel responded to the Indianola Cutoff.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a man driving a GMC Jimmy truck on Southbound 101 was turning left onto Indianola Road when it was struck by a GMC Yukon SUV going Northbound on 101.

The truck then crashed into a light pole and landed on its side. The driver, a man in his 40’s died at the scene.

The two occupants in the Yukon refused treatment. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
