Storm Safety Tips

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- Pacific gas and electric has a few helpful tips to increase your safety during storms. In a power outage, use flashlights, not candles to avoid risk of fire. Generators should be installed by professional and kept in a well-ventilated area. Turn off and unplug all appliances so they do not become a fire hazard when the power returns. Securely tie down outdoor furniture so that high winds do not cause damage and remember to never touch down power lines.
