Power Outage Affects Thousand’s Of Humboldt County Residents

Humboldt County (KIEM)– Thousands of Humboldt County residents woke up in the dark.

Around 5:30 Friday morning, transmission lines that bring power to the North Coast were damaged causing power to go out for sixty-seven-thousand residents.

According to PG&E, as of 4:30 Friday evening, fewer than four-thousand customers in Humboldt remain without power.

The large amount of snow has made it difficult for crews who are using Sno-Cats to reach equipment in need of repair in difficult access locations. The utility company will continuing working throughout the evening until power is fully restored.
