Road Conditions Improve

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM)- Road conditions after the storm are now improving, but caution is still needed while driving.

The following locations are in need of chains while driving: Alderpoint Road, Shelter Cove Road, Briceland Road, Mattole Road, Wild Cat Road, Bear River Ridge Road, and Bair Road from Hwy 299-Hoopa.

Some areas remain flooded and driving is inadvisable: Cannibal Island Road, Howard Heights, and Meridian Road at mile marker 0.80.

Bald Hills Road from mile marker 14-28 remains closed.

While many roads are re-opening after heavy snow and rain, Humboldt County Officials recommend driving cautiously, carrying chains for your vehicle, and making sure to avoid downed trees.
