Eureka Woman’s Club Hosts Annual Waffle Breakfast and Fundraiser

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – There was a big turnout Sunday for the Eureka Woman’s Club annual Waffle breakfast and raffle Fundraiser.

All the money raised from this fundraiser goes towards four, local non-profit organizations.

Former president, Claudia Cranford, and her father began this fundraising effort over 20 years ago, and she couldn’t think of anything better than to support other local organizations.

Those non-profit organizations benefiting from the fundraiser this year include the Betty Kwan Chinn Foundation, Humboldt domestic violence services, the Sequoia Humane Society and the Eureka Woman’s Club Milk Fund for woman and children’s shelter at the mission.

Andy Abbott, who is on the board of directors for the eureka woman’s club, and Co-chair of the waffle breakfast committee this year says he is honored to do this for the community, and couldn’t pick a better way to give back.

More people than ever before turned out for some great food, good conversation, and all in support of the community.

Tri-Counties Bank donated $1,000 towards non-profit organizations.

Sequoia Springs Senior Center, Compass Credit Union, Recology Waste Management Center and numerous more sponsors donated to the cause as well.

This year, the Eureka Woman’s Club expects to donate at least $1,500 to each non-profit.

This fundraiser is only once a year, but the Eureka Woman’s Club continuously works with the community, and your support is greatly appreciated.
