20th Annual Bowl of Beans Benefit Sponsored by Arcata Elementary School and Arcata’s Recreation Division

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – Residents came out on Monday to the Arcata Community Center in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to support the local youth at their 20th annual Bowl of Beans benefit.

The benefit is sponsored by the Arcata Elementary School and the city of Arcata’s Recreation Division.

Funds raised at this fun-filled event supports the Arcata recreation’s youth scholarship fund for the arts and Arcata Elementary School’s art program.

All attendees enjoyed a delicious meal of rice and beans and performances by the Arcata elementary school students, the Arcata Inter-Faith gospel and youth choir.

Guests in attendance won fabulous raffle prizes generously donated by local businesses.
