Arcata Fire District Holds Public Town Halls for Measure R

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – The Arcata Fire District will be holding six town hall meeting to discuss Measure R with the public.

The measure is a special tax proposed on the March 2020 ballot that would generate $ 2.2 million dollars for the fire district. The money would be spent on retaining current staff members, restoring three firefighter positions, and for the replacement and repair of fire engines and equipment.

Voters who own or rent property in McKinleyville, Arcata, Bayside, Jacoby Creek, or Manila are invited to attend the meetings.
