Fortuna City Council Honors Former Police Chief Bill Dobberstein

FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – Former Fortuna Police Chief, Bill Dobberstein is recognized with an award for his 25 years of service to the community.

During Tuesday nights city council meeting the former chief says retirement hasn’t quite sunk in yet, but that he’s looking forward to the next chapter in his life.

So what’s next on the agenda?? Dobberstein says he’s thinking about a trip to Hawaii.

He hasn’t been gone long and is already missed by so many.

However, he says he won’t be far, you can still see him at city council meetings and community events every now and then.
