Fortuna City Council Meeting Held at City Hall

FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – To start off Fortuna’s city council meeting there was a proclamation of recognition for Police Chief Bill Dobberstein thanking him for all of his hard work and dedication to the community.

Also on the agenda was a National Mentoring Month proclamation to recognize the work that mentors are doing in the community and the importance of it.

A professional services contract for engineering improvements on Redwood Way was also discussed along with the funding that will allow for the design and construction to go forward on that roadway starting next year.

There was a request for water services outside of the city’s service area for Rohnerville road.

And a resolution ratifying the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Protection District Ordinance which adopts the California fire code and the international fire code standards.

There will be another Fortuna council meeting on Wednesday discussing Measure “E” which uses Fortuna tax dollars to protect and maintain essential city services including adding police officers, repairing streets, park maintenance and programs for youth and seniors.
