Crescent City Fire and Rescue Appoints Gillespie as Fire Chief

CRESCENT CITY, Ca. (KIEM) – Crescent City Fire and Rescue has a new but familiar leader. Bill Gillespie was sworn in as the department’s fire chief at Tuesday night’s Crescent City Council meeting. He has served as the interim chief since April of 2018, and has 32 years of experience.

Prior to coming north, Gillespie was with the Eureka Fire Department and Humboldt Bay Fire for over 20 years before he was promoted to fire chief.

Crescent City Fire Protection Board members, C.C.P.D, city staff, D.N.S.O, volunteer firefighters, and community members all gathered to celebrate the official appointment of the fire chief.
