4,200 Pounds of Trash Removed in Fortuna During Community Cleanup

FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – 23 awesome volunteers showed up Saturday to make a difference in the community of Fortuna.

4,200 pounds of trash were removed from streams, creeks, rivers and the graffiti painted over thanks to a donation of paint from ace hardware.

The new total cleaned up now stands at 382,000 pounds.

A special thanks to Sean Swanson and River Life Foundation for coordinating and helping out with the event.

1st District Supervisor, Rex Bohn showed up to help out and support the community’s cleanup efforts as well.
