Fortuna, Ca. (KIEM)– A life-saving tool is helping aid emergency personnel when it comes to drug overdoses.

Back in November of 2019, Fortuna Police Officers were equipped with nasal Narcan and just this week, they put it to the test.

FPD Officers responded to an accidental prescription overdose and jumped into action administering two doses of Narcan.

It’s not just law enforcement that have this life-saving tool, paramedics have the medication on hand.

Agencies across the country are equipped with Narcan and here locally, it is already showing the positives of what it can do.
