Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

WEITCHPEC, Ca. (KIEM)- A traffic stop in northeastern Humboldt county lands one man in jail on drug charges.

Just before one this morning, Sheriff’s Deputies pulled over a vehicle in Weitchpec on State Highway 169 for a vehicle code violation.

The two men in the vehicle were on probation with search clauses. Deputies located five ounces of meth and items consistent with the sale of controlled substances.

The driver, 54-year-old Jeffrey Allan Harper was arrested and booked on the drug charges. The passenger was cited for an of out county warrant and released.
