Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Grocery staples are just a few things senior shoppers were searching the shelves for at Eureka Natural Foods.

Customers strolling the aisles during the first two hours the store was open. A time set aside for people 60 and over and also those with compromised immune systems. So far, the response has been great with the store seeing a large uptick in business.

At the end of the day, the store is just trying to do their part in following CDC and local public health guidelines and hopes the community will do the same. The store is also taking steps to keep both customers and employees safe like disinfecting carts after each use and asking people to stand 6 feet apart while waiting in line

The special shopping hours are each morning from 7 to 9 am at both their Eureka and Arcata locations. Eureka Natural Foods wants to remind customers that during this time, they will not be allowing people to bring in their own reusable containers.
