ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM)– Mad River Community Hospital is providing a screening tent to check residents with respiratory symptoms. St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Redwood Memorial also have tents located outside of their emergency rooms for residents.

The tent is used as a precaution to help separate respiratory illnesses from other medical conditions. If a person shows signs of respiratory illnesses medical personal will take immediate measures by assisting them and placing them inside a room in the hospital.

Only one person is allowed in the tent at all times along with one medical professional. The tent has all of the same medical supplies as a room inside a hospital.

The hospital stated that if matters do in worse, they will get a bigger tent.
