Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — Public Health is yet again urging people to stay home in light of the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Humboldt County doubling Wednesday. Despite the uptick in cases, putting residents on a full lockdown isn’t on the table.

Moving forward, DHHS is now incorporating commercial testing results in their daily lab report released to the public. Dr. Frankovich acknowledges that there are some challenges when it comes to sharing that information.

Another major concern on public health’s mind? How they can best support health care workers on the front lines. They are taking steps to ensure doctors and nurses have the personal protective equipment needed to safely care for patients.

There’s also the question of whether or not to wear a mask while out and about. There is no standing recommendation from the CDC for healthy people to wear masks, but it could be beneficial if you’re not feeling well.
