2020 Redwood Acres Fair Cancelled

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – A difficult yet necessary decision was made on Wednesday due to covid-19.

The Ninth District Agricultural Association announced the cancellation of its June 2020 Redwood Acres Fair. 

CEO of Redwood Acres Fairgrounds, Ben Brown said in a statement, quote, “The fair is an annual tradition, and its cancellation is a blow to all of us. However, the health and safety of our community comes first.”

Since the fair must be cancelled this year, alternatives for 4H and FFA students to sell their animals in an online sale format is being discussed.  

Affected students should explore additional methods to independently market their livestock with direct, private sales. If the Junior Livestock Auction can be arranged as a online, remote event, the fair will notify the community immediately.
