Shelter in Place Order Updated, New Restrictions for Residents

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — The shelter in place mandate ordered by Public Health has been modified, and now includes more guidelines and restrictions for residents.

The updated order now includes a broader distinction of who is considered high risk, allowing people to properly see where they are on that scale. Parks are not closed, but there are some increased restrictions to prevent large groups from spreading or people using communal equipment.

Another big change? The fact that places such as hotels, vacation rentals, and campgrounds can no longer rent to non-residents. They are still allowed to rent to essential workers traveling to the area. The order also further defined what exactly is an essential business. All in hopes of preventing community transmission.

If you’d like to view the full, updated version of the order, it can be found on the county government website.
