Nursing Students Perform Clinical Rotations at Local Hospitals and Company Agencies

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM)- Nursing students can breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to meeting requirements to be licensed in California.

College of the Redwoods will start sending nursing students back to locals hospitals and community agencies for their clinical rotations.

This after the Department of Consumer Affairs announced the California board of registered nurses would lower direct patient care contact.

As the Covid-19 pandemic began to unfold the nursing program was placed on hold to protect student and patients.

As of now students will work in two units at Saint Joseph’s Hospital with no more than six students per shift.

Shifts have been extended from ten to twelve hours and now include Saturdays and Sundays.
