UPDATED – Humboldt County Private Sector Economic Impact Numbers

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM)- The Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services’ latest private sector COVID-19 Economic Impact numbers have been released.

It’s estimated that Humboldt County will lose over $26 million in business revenue in 20-20 compared to 2019. 1,874 jobs locally have been lost and 15 business have permanently closed.

These estimates are based on 608 businesses that have self-reported to the counties’ COVID-19 impact survey as of April 16, 2020.

Today the Office of Emergency Services submitted an initial damage assessment to the state so they can begin the process of seeking disaster funds.
