Fortuna Fire extends online training

FORTUNA, Ca (KIEM) – The Volunteer Fortuna Fire Station moved all in-person training to online for the months of March and April, and they are now looking to continue the online classes through May.

The department and trainees have been doing their best to teach and learn effectively, but online classes have diminished the quality of training that is usually valued with in person classes.

Fortuna Fire has also had to cancel their Eel River Valley Fire Academy which had twenty eight students enrolled.

Safety protocols will continue for the department as local and state officials make decisions around COVID-19.
