Man injured in Eureka fire

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM)-A man is taken to the hospital after a duplex catches fire in Eureka.

Humboldt Bay Fire responded just before 11 Wednesday night to Third and P Street. Once on scene, flames and smoke were visible from the structure.

A man was found conscious lying outside of the front door. He was assisted by neighbors and transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.

HBF said while fighting the blaze, an electrical line dropped near them hindering their access around the duplex.

It took 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and damage is estimated at $125,000.
