Construction Underway for Humboldt Bay Fire Engines

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- Construction is underway for Humboldt Bay Fire’s two new engines.

The Pierce Arrow Fire X-T Pumpers are being manufactured in Appleton Wisconsin and cost $750,000 each

The funding comes from capital reserve funds and a portion was financed by the city. The previous engines date back to the early nineties.

Some of the features include lower installed hoses to fight fires and an improved cab concept to keep firefighters safe.

The engines will go to fire stations three on Ocean Avenue and five on Harris Street.
