Humboldt County Residents Celebrate Cinco De Mayo

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Happy Cinco de Mayo and taco Tuesday.

Your fiesta may look a little different this year with restaurant dining rooms being closed due to the pandemic, but you can still celebrate.

Well, that’s exactly what residents in Eureka were doing.

Social distancing and face coverings didn’t stop customers from heading to their favorite Mexican restaurants Tuesday. We stopped by Tres Chiles Picosos to see just how many people were out celebrating.

Now a lot of people think Cinco de Mayo is Mexico’s Independence Day, but it actually commemorates Mexico’s victory over the French at the battle of Puebla in 1862.
