Arcata receives trailers from state for people experiencing homelessness

ARCATA, Ca (KIEM) – The City of Arcata has initiated another housing option for people experiencing homelessness. Seven trailers were delivered as part of Governor Gavin Newsom’s housing trailer operations response.

A combined effort between the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services and the Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services secured the seven trailers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Within weeks the City of Arcata will make these trailers permanent locations as they will house high-risk individuals.

Over 1,300 trailers have been distributed across the state of California and with most of them going to big cities, Humboldt County is proud of the partnership that was created to make this possible.
