$9.7 Million Caltrans Project on Eureka’s 4th Street Starts Monday

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)– Caltrans will begin a $9.7 million dollar safety improvement project along southbound 4th Street on the northside of Eureka.

Construction will include expanding from 2 to 3 lanes between V and O Street, a new traffic signal will also be installed at L Street.

The project includes drainage improvements, ADA upgrades to sidewalks and curbs and the resurfacing of the roadway and some adjacent streets.

Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns in the late-night hours from 9 pm to 6 am. There will be some daytime work that will restrict traffic to two lanes. The project is expected to last through the fall of 2021 and is funded by the California SHOP project, State-Highway-Operations, and Protection project.
