Man arrested after attacking another man with a machete

CRESCENT CITY, Ca (KIEM)-A man is behind bars after reportedly attacking another man with a machete.

The Crescent City Police department said the assault happened at around 6:30pm Wednesday at the Beachfront Park on Howe Street.

Officers arrested 36-year-old Robert Collard.

The victim was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Collard was booked into the Del Norte County Jail for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
