Wildfire Preparedness Week: What You Need to Know

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Wildfire preparedness is up to all of us and the USDA Forest Service, including the Six Rivers National forest, is partnering with Cal fire for wildfire preparedness week.

Everyone has a part to play in preparing for wildfires.

Get your fuels reduction and defensible space work done now and keep it maintained.

Abide by your local fire restrictions; do not park in overgrown grass, make sure tow chains are not dragging on the ground, and drown your campfires and BBQ’s.

Be extra cautious this year with any kind of ignition source, whether using a welding torch, a lantern or smoking.

One less spark could mean one less preventable wildfire.
