CERT Program Helps Feed Over 200 Seniors

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- Volunteers from the community program CERT come together to assist food for people and helped distribute food to residents.

McKinleyville CERT helped sort large bags of produce at the Food for People warehouse. They did this to ease some of the work for staff.

Food was then taken to local households. Over 200 Seniors received food in Eureka with the help of the organization.

The program is in place to help the community when there is an emergency making sure all volunteers are equipped with training skills.

McKinleyville CERT Team Leader Cliff Vancott says its important for his team to help to give first responders a break.
