Woman arrested in Southern Humboldt for 5 pounds of heroin

MIRANDA, Ca (KIEM)-A multi-week investigation leads to the arrest of a drug trafficker from Sinoloa, Mexico.

41-year-old Rafaela Castillo-Ramirez was arrested Monday after a search warrant was served during a traffic stop on Maple Hills Road just off of Highway 101 in Miranda.

The Humboldt County Drug Task Force and the sheriff’s office uncovered approximately five pounds of heroin in a false compartment in her vehicle with a street value of over $220,000.

She was booked on charges of possession and transportation of controlled substances, a false compartment in a motor vehicle, and violation of the shelter in place order…

 Her bail is set at a half million dollars.
